Elementary Science Safety
Providing a Safe Classroom Environment
This course covers the basics to providing a safe learning space for elementary students participating in science activities and experiments. The course provides guidance to anticipating and preventing hazardous situations while promoting hands-on learning with young students. This webinar includes aspects of classroom safety involving modeling and supervising safety procedures and classroom decorum. How to help students understand procedures and their responsibilities are discussed. In addition, animals in the classroom will be addressed.

Your Instructor
Jay is passionate about science education, science literacy
and providing a safe learning environment for all students at all levels. Jay
holds a BS in Biology and a Masters in Science Curriculum and Instruction.
During his 37 years of education experience, Jay has taught middle and high
school science and biology and science methods at the post-secondary level. In
addition to classroom experience, he has supervised a school district K-12
science program and promoted and trained teachers in science classroom safety.
Jay is recognized for his knowledge and leadership in science education.
