Creating a Coloring Book of Mini Mandalas Step-by-Step
Cross curricular art and mathematics
Combining art and math, participants can create an individual or collaborative small book. A circular format, or Mandala, is drawn of shapes and patterns using a template or freehand. A colored pencil technique of blending with colorless blenders is used to ‘color' the designs. Participants will create a small zig-zag book and these Mandalas will be used for the cover of the book. These images can be shared for the interior. Math inclusion of angles and segments and various geometric shapes will be addressed.
After completing this webinar, participants will:
- Learn and apply bookmaking techniques
- Create mandala designs
- Develop math skills with a focus on angles, radius and diameter
- Strengthen colored pencil blending skills
- Participate in a collaborative project (optional)
